Just about managing – Theresa May reflects during her first day working in Adult Social Care

When I stood on the steps of No 10, and talked about supporting those who JUST ABOUT MANAGE I didn’t mean me.

I wasn’t meant to be the Prime Minister who JUST ABOUT MANAGED. A PM who JUST ABOUT MANAGED to win an election. A PM who JUST ABOUT MANAGED to broker a botched BREXIT MEANS BREXIT deal 5 days before getting my P45.

But – JUST ABOUT MANAGING wasn’t so bad when you had a chauffeur, bodyguard, excellent wine cellar and Chequers.

Theresa went to wipe away a solitary tear before JUST ABOUT MANAGING to remember that she was wearing slightly too small, powder free, excrement stained vinyl gloves.

She reflected on the job offer from Costa, but a barista was always in the spotlight, that wasn’t really her style she now realised JUST ABOUT MANAGING a wry smile.

She’d thought, that, like many other ex PM’s she could secure a lucrative non-exec post in the city. Unfortunately, they’d all JUST ABOUT MANAGED to relocate to Frankfurt – just before free movement of capital ceased.

Theresa paused and reflected on her one big success. 10 years after pledging and 7 years late, as home office minister, to cut net migration to ‘tens of thousands’ she HAD MANAGED to hit this target.

So, she didn’t have to JUST ABOUT MANAGE to get a job in Adult Social Care. There were literally thousands of opportunities if you were really prepared to JUST ABOUT MANAGE.
